JBL a subsidiary of Harman International, has a long and well deserved reputation for making some of the best professional studio monitors, Cinema sound systems, large stadium speakers, sound reinforcement monitors and large hall speakers. Their successful consumer speakers are direct descendants of the professional line and reflect JBL’s commitment to sound and build quality.
The L7 was the top model home speaker from the L Series circa early 90’s. Original MSRP of $2000/pair. These are a large 4-way floor standing tower speaker featuring:
-12″ Woofer (side firing)
– 8″ Mid-Bass
– 5″ Mid-Range
– 1″ Pure Titanium Dome Tweeter
(see link to tech sheet below)
There are two sets of heavy 5-way binding posts for Bi-Wire or Bi-Amping.
The high quality drivers feature large powerful magnets, cast aluminum frames and edge wound voice coils.
The furniture grade cabinets are finished in black satin lacquer fronts and black lacquer over real Oak veneer sides and tops with lock mitered, subtle radiused edges and heavy internal bracing.
Tall narrow enclosures with a slanted front baffle allow for correct time alignment of the drivers for excellent imaging. The 12″ side firing sub-woofer is extremely powerful, yet articulate and musical.
The L7 is 91dB efficient, yet is rated to 450 WPC, and can produce near live performance SPL. They produce a gigantic room filling sound stage that must be heard to be fully appreciated.
The speakers are in excellent overall cosmetic condition. The drivers are 100% fully functional and sound like new.
